The Windows XP Security Center alerts can be turned off without XPlite. You can however use XPlite to completely remove the Security Center.
(1) Go to the control panel and open the Security Center. On the Right side there is a link at the bottom of the menu that says "Change the way Security Center alerts me". Click on this link and you can turn off the various "alerts" that may be annoying you.
(2) using XPlite - you can totaly remove the Security Center feature from Windows. The security Center is an option in the "System Tools and Utilities" group in the Add\Remove list in XPlite. Clear the checkbox to uninstall the Security Centre. Recheck it to reinstall.
