User Logon Preferences - "Automation-server cannot create object" (XP)

You may see the error dialog:
Automation-server cannot create object
when clicking on 'Change the way users log on or off' in the Control Panel/User Accounts applet if you have removed the Windows Script Host component.
Regardless of the error dialog - the settings controlling the the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching are indeed set and appear to be working properly.
If you reinstall the Windows Script Host the error does not appear.
