Utility to record and play sounds with a sound card

In XPlite Professional you can find Sound Recorder under the group titled  Multimedia.

Install Sound Recorder:

Sound Recorder is a stand-alone component. The function of Sound Recorder does not rely on any other XPlite Professional components and removing other components in XPlite Professional should not influence Sound Recorder.

Uninstall Sound Recorder:

The following components are dependent on Sound Recorder. If you remove Sound Recorder from your system using XPlite Professional you will also be required to uninstall the following components:

•  Windows Movie Maker
•  Video Playback Codecs
•  Windows Media Player 9+
•  Windows Media Player 6.4

Compatibility:

XPlite Professional can completely uninstall Sound Recorder and reinstall to repair Sound Recorder on:

• Windows XP Professional: orig, SP1, SP2
• Windows XP Home: orig, SP1, SP2
• Windows 2000 Professional: orig, SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4
• Windows 2003 Server: orig, SP1, SP2(coming!)

User Removal Statistics for Sound Recorder

XPlite:
Of 1304 sampled Windows XP users, 850 left Sound Recorder installed and 454 people uninstalled Sound Recorder from their system.

2000lite:
Of 393 sampled Windows 2000 users, 94 left Sound Recorder installed and 73 people uninstalled it from their system. No data for another 226 users (advanced features hidden or incomplete log data).

Pro Users can help us collect these removal statistics.

1. In XPlite or 2000lite press to access preferences.
2. Ensure logging is on.
3. Check "Send component state data when checking for upgrades" on the Preferences tab.
4. Using the Check for Upgrades button on the About tab.

The information sent is the last block only of component installation state data - you can see this in the log as "option=1" or "option=0". No personal information is conveyed.
