Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache is a stand-alone component. The function of Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache does not rely on any other XPlite Professional components and removing other components in XPlite Professional should not influence Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache.
Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache is not required by other system components in XPlite Professional. You can safely uninstall Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache without compromising other XPlite Professional components. BUT PLEASE NOTE: You may have other software installed that does require Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache. If you encounter any compatibility issues with other software you can quickly and easily reinstall Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache using XPlite Professional.
XPlite Professional can completely uninstall Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache and reinstall to repair Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache on:
- Windows XP Professional: orig, SP1, SP2
- Windows XP Home: orig, SP1, SP2
- Windows 2003 Server: orig, SP1, SP2(coming!)
Of 1539 sampled Windows XP users, 1140 left Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache installed and 399 people uninstalled Clear the Pre-Fetch Cache from their system.

- Check "Send component state data when checking for upgrades" on the Preferences tab.
